Water Challenge takes part in Next Spain forum on innovation and energy transition

Water Challenge participated in Next Spain, a leading forum organized by ABC newspaper, the Vocento group, and Telefónica, focused on innovation as a key driver of economic growth and sustainable transformation.

This edition, held in Seville, brought together prominent figures from the business, technology, and energy sectors, including the Regional Minister for Industry, Energy and Mines of Andalusia, Jorge Paradela. The discussions focused on the key challenges and opportunities of moving toward cleaner and more efficient energy models.

Our CEO, Susana García Fernández de Cañete, took part in a panel discussion alongside Rosendo Rivero Cubeles, Director of the San Roque Energy Park, and Eduardo Almagro Blanco, CEO of SailH2. The conversation explored the role of sustainable practices in the energy sector and the importance of water efficiency in industrial operations.

Susana presented how Water Challenge’s patented technology enables industries to recover water from their processes and eliminate liquid waste entirely, without transport or discharge. This innovation, aligned with circular economy principles, supports the move towards zero liquid discharge and reduced water footprint in industrial environments.

A key topic raised during the discussion was the increasing pressure on water resources, especially in fast-growing sectors like data centers, which are expanding in Spain and require advanced solutions to operate under truly sustainable criteria.
